MedHaul wins $500K top prize in WellWithAll's $1M AI-health competition

What's the deal? Memphis-based MedHaulDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → won first place and $500,000 in the inaugural WellWithAll $1 Million Prize, announced in Boston on October 15. The grant recognizes the company's AI platform for coordinating non-emergency medical transport.

What does MedHaul do? It coordinates door-to-door wheelchair and stretcher rides for patients that standard rideshare services struggle to serve. MedHaul says its AI has cut ride scheduling from more than two hours to about two minutes.

Who it serves: Among its riders, 42% live in rural communities, 48% are over 65, and 46% live in low-income areas. Some travel up to 100 miles to reach the nearest care facility.

Why now? Non-emergency medical transport is drawing attention as a care-access issue, particularly for people needing specialized rides. "The breakthrough is already here," said Demond Martin, WellWithAll co-founder and chief executive officer.

Who's behind it? WellWithAll, a wellness company that directs 20% of its profits to health equity, ran the competition. Five finalists demonstrated their solutions live before an expert panel. The American Cancer Society's BrightEdge program became a strategic partner and investor in MedHaul in 2026.

What about the others? MEandMineDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a San Jose youth mental health platform, took second place and $300,000. Boston Children's Hospital won $180,000 for its AI-assisted discharge-instruction translation tool. Slingshot AI and Xandar Kardian each received $10,000.

The signal: At $500,000, the award sits well below the typical disclosed round, in roughly the 26th percentile by amount. But as a certified B Corp, MedHaul gains validation and backing to scale a service aimed at patients the healthcare system, in Martin's words, "reaches last."
