Boomi buys Israel's Elementary for $43M to shore up AI-ready data

What's the deal? BoomiDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired Israeli startup Elementary Data for approximately $43 million in cash and stock. Elementary builds data observability software that monitors the quality and reliability of information feeding enterprise systems and AI agents. All 17 of its employees, based in Israel, will join Boomi.

What does Elementary do? Its tools help data teams spot problems before they reach business reports, models, or automated systems. The platform tracks data lineage at the column level and feeds health information to AI tools via a Model Context Protocol server. Customers include Fiverr and PatagoniaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and its open-source tool draws more than 1.1 million downloads a month.

The backstory: Elementary was founded by chief executive officer Maayan Salom and chief product and technology officer Or Avidov, both veterans of IDF intelligence unit 8200. It had raised $8.5 million by the end of 2022 from TLV Partners, Cowboy Ventures, Y Combinator, and angel investors.

Why now? Enterprise vendors are racing to make AI agents work safely with company data. "AI is only as trustworthy as the data behind it," said Steve Lucas, Boomi's chairman and chief executive officer.

What's the endgame? This is Boomi's third Israeli acquisition, after data-integration provider Rivery, bought for about $100 million in 2024, and AI-gateway startup Lunar.dev in 2026. Elementary adds the quality-and-governance layer, linking the three deals around the movement, access, and reliability of enterprise data. Boomi, whose platform connects systems for more than 30,000 customers, plans to expand its Israeli operations.

What continues? Both the commercial product and the open-source project will carry on under Boomi, with uninterrupted service for existing customers and no immediate changes to the code repository or release process.

The signal: At $43 million, this reads as a targeted technology-and-team buy rather than a major expansion bet. The deal's payoff hinges on whether Boomi can fold Rivery, Lunar.dev, and Elementary into a coherent platform and win customer adoption.
