Tsinghua-linked RISC-V chip maker Xinji Wuxian raises early VC round
What's the deal? Xinji Wuxian, a Tsinghua-linked RISC-V chip company, has closed a Pre-A funding round, financial adviser Wancreate said on October 19. The round was led by Zhiyuan Robotics (Agibot) alongside the Anhui Automobile Innovation Center, Guoyuan Equity, and Hefei Baohe Venture Capital.
What's the endgame? The company develops RISC-V chips and solutions targeting automotive, embodied intelligence, edge devices, and computing centres. It will direct the new capital toward research and commercialisation of full-stack RISC-V chips for embodied intelligence.
What has it built? Xinji Wuxian lists more than 10 IP core products, over 20 enterprise customers, and shipments topping 5 million chips. Its line-up includes an ASIL-D automotive-grade processor and a 4 TOPS AI neural network processor, plus a free, open-source toolchain called ChipRV Studio.
Why now? Chinese RISC-V startups are pushing from embedded uses into automotive, robotics, and higher-performance compute. Xinji Wuxian's investor base — which includes a robotics firm and an automotive innovation centre — maps directly onto those target markets.
The signal: Early capital is flowing to RISC-V makers betting on more complex processor applications. Xinji Wuxian's differentiation is its focus on cars and embodied intelligence, backed by a Tsinghua technology-transfer pedigree — though its commercialisation claims still need customer and production data to confirm.
