AI router TrustedRouter raises $6M seed to keep prompts private
What's the deal? TrustedRouterDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised $6 million in seed funding led by Sierra Ventures, Semafor reported. The Miami startup routes AI requests across models based on cost, speed, and privacy, and launched publicly six weeks ago.
Why private? For some open-weight models, TrustedRouter offers end-to-end encryption and verifiable confidential computing, designed to stop both the company and the data centre from reading customer prompts or outputs.
How big is the round? At $6 million, the seed sits in the top fifth of comparable rounds — roughly the 82nd percentile by amount. It follows a $1.25 million seed the company disclosed in August, backed by Sam Lessin of Slow Ventures, Bill Tai, Linda Avey, and former Stripe data leader George Xing.
What's the endgame? Founder Joseph Perla wants AI applications to switch models freely rather than lock in to one provider. TrustedRouter gives developers access to more than 600 models from over 81 providers through a single API, with open-source routing code.
What's next? The company plans a marketplace called the New York Token ExchangeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, where models and hosting providers would compete to process requests, with AI tokens priced as commodities.
The signal: Investor interest in model-routing infrastructure is climbing fast. OpenRouter raised $113 million in May before Stripe agreed to acquire it at a reported price of about $7.5 billion. TrustedRouter is betting that privacy, not routing alone, is the edge that wins enterprise customers.
