CKM3 acquires £50M maritime recruiter Tech Professionals
What's the deal? CKM3Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an independent investment company, has acquired Tech Professionals, a specialist recruiter for the offshore, subsea and maritime sectors, in a transaction announced in October 2026. Terms were not disclosed. KBS Corporate advised on the deal.
The companies: Founded in 2016 and based in Banbury, Tech Professionals supplies engineers, technicians and other specialist contract and permanent staff to an international client base. CKM3 was founded by Colm McGinley, who has considerable experience in recruitment, and invests across sectors including recruitment, construction, engineering, infrastructure, and education.
By the numbers: Tech Professionals generates annual revenues of roughly £50 million and keeps around 500 contractors on assignment.
What's the endgame? McGinley said the immediate priority is "to support the existing team, protect what already makes the business successful and support its long-term growth." He called the acquisition "an important milestone for CKM3 and the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Tech Professionals."
Why now? McGinley pointed to the firm's customer relationships and reputation as decisive. "What stood out to me throughout the process was the quality of the people, the strength of the company's customer relationships and the reputation the team has built within these highly specialised markets," he said.
The signal: The deal reflects continued investor appetite for niche recruitment businesses with established footholds in specialised, hard-to-staff industries. For CKM3, it adds a revenue-generating player in a sector where technical expertise is scarce and client loyalty runs deep.
