Covee raises $750K to help boutique insurance brokers punch above their weight

What's the deal? Singapore-based coveeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has launched an AI operating platform for insurance brokers and raised $750,000 in pre-seed funding led by Built Different Ventures. The startup targets boutique employee-benefits brokers, giving them tools to handle renewals, claims analysis, and HR administration that have traditionally required larger teams.

What's the endgame? Covee wants smaller brokers to compete for the big corporate accounts that usually go to multinational firms. Its platform ingests carrier policies, census files, and claims data, then produces structured client outputs — each figure citing the clause in its source document.

The pitch: A single renewal can take more than 30 hours under existing processes, according to covee; the platform cuts that to under two. Beyond renewals, it connects brokers, employers, insurers, third-party administrators, and healthcare providers in one workflow, adding predictive analytics and flexible-benefits budgeting tools.

Why now? Employers in Singapore face sustained medical cost increases. WTWDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → projects corporate medical trend rates there at 16.9% in 2026, up from 15.5% in 2025, while Mercer Marsh BenefitsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → expects rates above 10% across most regions for a sixth straight year.

Who's behind it? Covee was co-founded by Rosaline Chow Koo, a former regional head at Mercer Marsh Benefits who later built broker CXADealroom has a profile for this one. The founding team also includes chief operating officer Brandon Wirakesuma and vice president of engineering Wilson Wu.

"I've proven a boutique can perform like a giant," said Chow Koo, chief executive officer of covee. "What small brokers haven't had is the tools and analytics the largest brokers use. Covee puts that firepower in their hands to level the playing field."

What could go wrong? The platform handles sensitive employee and claims data. Covee says it complies with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act, with SOC 2 certification in progress — a gap it will need to close as it courts larger accounts.

The company plans to use the funding to expand across Asia and the US. Built Different Ventures describes itself as an AI-focused venture studio with operations in both markets. "She knows the pains firsthand, and covee is using AI to tackle a huge part of insurance brokerage that is still underserved by modern technology," said co-founder Huey Lin.

The signal: The employee-benefits brokerage market was valued at $46.5 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $72 billion by 2033, according to Grand View ResearchDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, which named Asia Pacific the fastest-growing region. Covee is betting that AI can shift the balance toward smaller players in a sector still dominated by scale.
