Try Dealroom → has raised an early-stage round led by Fastweb+Vodafone, with backing from Founders FactoryDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and VentoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The financing follows an initial investment in 2025 and lifts the company's total funding above €2 million.

The breakdown: The capital combines equity from the three investors, non-dilutive public funding from national and regional programmes, and bank debt. It also extends Mama Insurance's existing work with Fastweb+Vodafone on research, AI capabilities, and digital customer experiences.

What's the endgame? Mama Insurance is building an AI-native platform to simplify how consumers find and buy insurance. It starts with home insurance, targeting an Italian market where more than half of households are estimated to have no home cover despite risks including fire, flooding, and theft.

The platform lets users get quotes and buy modular policies online in under two minutes, with terms written in plain Italian. Underwriting comes from global insurer Chubb.

Products reach customers through the direct platform, a network of agents and brokers, and embedded partnerships with consumer brands.

Why now? The new capital funds expansion beyond home insurance. Mama Insurance plans to add personal insurance lines and build products for small and medium-sized businesses, working with different underwriters by line.

"Home insurance is where we start, but our ambition is to build the platform that protects Italians across every dimension of life and business," said Leonida Fini Zarri, founder and chief executive officer.

The signal: Mama Insurance reflects a wider push to rebuild insurance distribution around automation and AI, chasing underserved consumers in markets where coverage gaps remain wide.
