Rome's Deploiable raises €500,000 to build AI products for micro-exits

Try Dealroom →, a Rome-based AI product lab, has raised €500,000 in a seed round led by the Cannonball fund, with business angels Claudio Enriquez, Enrico Reggiani, and Mirko FaiozzoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → participating. The startup, founded by Roberto Macina, Valentina Iannucci, and Alessandro Piccinini, builds AI products aimed at the real needs of small and medium-sized businesses.

What's the endgame? Deploiable serially develops AI products for market niches, designed from the start to be acquired by smaller companies rather than to become unicorns. It calls these outcomes "micro-exits."

Why now? The founders say they observed a double problem: companies treat AI only as a tool to cut costs, while European startups produce few exits compared with more speculative ecosystems like the US one.

"Very often this last path stops because startups and industry speak two different financial languages," said Macina, co-founder and chief executive officer (translated from Italian). The aim, he added, is to speed up the development of "products that can generate metrics and revenue quickly."

Who's behind it? Macina, a software engineer, founded queue-management startup QuramiDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → with Mario Costanzo; that company was acquired by investment holding Next4Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → at the end of 2024.

Iannucci serves as strategy lead and Piccinini as deployment lead; both sit on Deploiable's board.

The signal: The product-lab model is widespread in the US but little replicated in Europe. Deploiable is betting that a factory for small, acquirable AI products fits the continent's thin exit market better than the unicorn chase.
