Curis raises $8.5M to reach key leukemia data in December

What's the deal? CurisDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Nasdaq-listed biotechnology company, has priced an $8.5 million private placement with existing healthcare-focused institutional investors. The company will sell 16,666,680 shares (or pre-funded warrants) plus accompanying common warrants at a combined price of $0.51 per share.

Why now? The gross proceeds are expected to fund operations through Curis's initial Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) data in five to 10 patients in December 2026. The offering is expected to close on or about October 19, 2026.

What's the endgame? Curis is developing emavusertib, an orally available small-molecule IRAK4 and FLT3 inhibitor. The drug is being evaluated in the TakeAim Lymphoma Phase 1/2 study in combination with the BTK inhibitor ibrutinib. Net proceeds will fund research and development, working capital, and general corporate purposes.

The fine print: The common warrants carry a $0.60 exercise price, become exercisable six months after issuance, and expire five and a half years out. Curis also agreed to cut the exercise price on existing January 2026 and August 2026 warrants to $0.60, down from $15.00 and $1.75 respectively.

A.G.P./Alliance Global PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → is lead placement agent, with Laidlaw & Company (UK) Ltd.Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → as co-placement agent.

The signal: The raise priced at-the-market under Nasdaq rules, and the steep warrant repricing points to a company stretching to fund a near-term clinical milestone. For Curis, the December CLL readout is the catalyst this capital is meant to reach.
