What's the deal? Hannover Finanz Opportunities (HFO)Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired a majority stake in KEUCODealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the German manufacturer of bathroom accessories, fittings, furniture and mirror cabinets based in Hemer, North Rhine-Westphalia. The transaction value was not disclosed. The founding Himrich family will stay on with a minority stake.
What each side brings: Founded in 1953, KEUCO combines in-house product development and production, positioning itself as a premium brand, particularly in the DACH region. HFO is contributing capital, strategic input and operational experience.
Why now? HFO framed the deal as support through "the current market situation," signalling pressure on KEUCO's business. The plan is to sharpen the product portfolio, adapt capacity and processes to market conditions, and strengthen the brand with a more competitive cost base.
What's the endgame? The firms say the goal is a long-term, sustainable footing for KEUCO rather than a quick turnaround. "We want to maintain these strengths and work alongside the company through the current market situation with fresh capital and a long-term perspective," said Hermann Reitze, managing partner at HFO.
Who's on board? KEUCO CEO Lubert Winnecken welcomed a German investor, saying a "strong new corporate structure" would let the company exploit market opportunities. The works council was involved in the process and backs the deal as a chance to stabilise the company and return it to growth.
The signal: Family-owned manufacturers in Germany's premium segment are increasingly turning to private capital to weather soft demand and restructure for the long term. KEUCO's choice of a domestic investor, with the founding family retaining a stake, reflects a cautious approach to that shift.
