The Raleigh, North Carolina startup — formally Journey Actuating TechnologiesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → — announced the funding on October 15, 2026. It will use the money to scale commercial operations, expand manufacturing, and broaden clinical use.
What's the endgame? The round backs the commercial relaunch of the Mini-Infuser, a wearable, non-powered continuous-rate infusion device for animals. Worn by the patient, it delivers medication under the skin for 48 hours, letting stable pets recover at home instead of in a clinic.
Why now? RxActuator acquired the Mini-Infuser technology in early 2026 and relaunched it under its own brand on October 1. More than 500 units have already been used across 90-plus veterinary clinics in three countries, with most volume coming from repeat accounts.
Continuous-rate infusion usually keeps patients tethered to an IV pump in the clinic. Vets use the device after surgery and for chronic pain, hospice and palliative care, antibiotics, and other cases that call for continuous delivery. A 2025 study in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine reported an 89.5% success rate for outpatient continuous infusion, at costs roughly 60 to 70 percent lower than inpatient care.
"Stable patients shouldn't have to recover in a kennel or a stall to get continuous pain control or infused antibiotics," said Jeff Journey, founder and chief executive officer of RxActuator and a US Air Force veteran.
The signal: Investor Jeff Walker, general partner at Waypoint Ventures, called the company a bet on "a proven clinical need and a clear path to scale." The deal reflects growing appetite for at-home care models that cut costs and stress — applied here to the pet, not the owner.
