Vertiv buys Europe's KES to expand AI data centre liquid cooling

What's the deal? Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) has agreed to acquire King Environmental Services (KES)Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Europe-based provider of fluid management, commissioning, and load-testing services for high-density, liquid-cooled data centres. Terms were not disclosed.

What's the endgame? The deal extends Vertiv's global thermal management services into Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). KES adds expertise spanning system readiness, performance validation, monitoring, and lifecycle optimisation to Vertiv's service portfolio.

Why now? High-performance computing and AI workloads are raising heat density in data centres, speeding adoption of liquid cooling. Fluid quality is critical here: contamination, trapped air, corrosion, and flow imbalances can cut heat-transfer efficiency and accelerate equipment wear.

What's the context? The acquisition builds on Vertiv's December 2025 purchase of PurgeRiteDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, which strengthened its fluid management presence in North America. KES is expected to replicate that footprint in EMEA.

Chief executive officer Gio Albertazzi said the deals advance Vertiv's strategy to provide "the expertise and disciplined field execution our customers need as they deploy increasingly complex infrastructure at scale" (translated from Turkish).

The signal: As AI pushes data centre power and heat higher, infrastructure suppliers are consolidating field-service specialists to control the full thermal chain — from system design to on-site execution and lifecycle maintenance.
