SelectLine folds woodwork software maker Dietrich's into its holding

What's the deal? SelectLine HoldingDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → is bringing DietrichDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s Technology, a German developer of software for timber construction, fully under its roof. The deal, announced on October 15, 2026, formalises an already close tie between the two firms. Terms were not disclosed.

What do they do? Dietrich's has built CAD/CAM and structural analysis software for the timber construction sector since 1982. It serves trade, construction, and industry clients across planning, design, dimensioning, and manufacturing. SelectLineDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → is a Magdeburg-based software group that acquires and connects specialised software companies.

Why now? The move structurally unites businesses that already worked closely together. Amar Mousa serves as both chief executive officer of SelectLine Holding and managing director of Dietrich's Technology.

"For me this step is actually a bit of a return to the roots," Mousa said (translated from German). He added that the move felt "less like a new beginning" and more like bringing together "what has long belonged together."

What's the endgame? SelectLine wants to link specialised software firms more tightly while keeping their industry expertise, identity, and customer proximity. Dietrich's will continue its focus on timber construction and keep its products and team. The group expects shared resources and faster knowledge transfer across its companies.

"Our strength as a group does not come from all companies becoming the same," Mousa said (translated from German). He said each firm should contribute its own expertise where real value emerges.

What changes for customers? SelectLine is emphasising continuity. Contacts, industry focus, and the development of Dietrich's products stay in place.

The signal: The deal reflects the steady consolidation of vertical software, where larger groups absorb niche specialists rather than merge them into a single platform. By keeping acquired brands intact, SelectLine is betting that domain depth is the asset worth preserving.
