What's the endgame? ShipStation Global wants to bridge the long-standing split between parcel delivery and commercial freight. It bills the result as the first multi-modal shipping platform built for small- to mid-sized shippers and scaling enterprises.
What's new? The merged company has added less-than-truckload (LTL) freight booking inside the flagship ShipStation platform. Customers can pull real-time LTL rate quotes across regional and national carriers, book and dispatch pallet shipments, and track cross-modal deliveries in one dashboard — with no minimum volume commitments or existing carrier accounts.
Why it matters? The platform leans on AI tools branded ShipStation Intelligence to pick carriers, flag delivery risks, automate fulfillment, and manage customs decisions. On the freight side, AI agents track loads from dispatch to proof of delivery. The network moves more than 3 billion shipments a year, feeding those models.
The recognition followed in October 2026, when ShipStation Global was named to FreightWaves' 2027 FreightTech 100, an annual list of 100 companies in freight, logistics, and supply chain technology.
"Historically, only Fortune 500 enterprises had the technology and carrier leverage to efficiently coordinate multi-modal operations," said Tom Madine, chief executive officer of ShipStation Global. He said the deal gives "merchants moving five pallets a month the exact same computational power, carrier rates, and operational agility as global retail giants."
The signal: Merging a freight network with parcel software points to consolidation around unified, multi-modal logistics. The bet is that small and mid-size shippers increasingly want enterprise-grade tools without enterprise-grade volume.
