M.M.LaFleur lands $7M credit line from JPalmer Collective
What's the deal? Womenswear brand M.M.LaFleur has secured a $7 million line of credit from JPalmer Collective (JPC), an asset-based lender led by Jennifer Palmer. The financing will fund creative development and expand the brand's reach.
What's the endgame? Founded in 2013 by former consultant Sarah LaFleur and ex-Zac PosenDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → designer Miyako Nakamura, M.M.LaFleur is built around "power casual," which it defines as "the modern way women dress for work and life." The company's mission centres on dressing professional women.
Why JPC? "We wanted a female lender who understood the challenges female founders face and one that we could have a long-term relationship with — we found that in JPC," said LaFleur, founder and chief executive officer.
Palmer, who started JPC in 2023, said her firm funds "high-growth companies that do not fit traditional lenders' criteria," offering a "white-glove service" to women-led brands and companies focused on sustainability and inclusivity.
The signal: The deal pairs two women-led businesses around a shared pitch — backing female founders that traditional lenders often overlook. For an established consumer brand like M.M.LaFleur, debt rather than equity signals a push to scale without diluting ownership.
