Breton raises $28M in H-share placement to fund overseas solar-storage push

What's the deal? Breton, a Hong Kong-listed provider of zero-carbon operations for mines, raised about US$26.6M (roughly $28 million) through a placement of new H shares. The company (stock code 1333) issued 18,316,200 shares at US$1.46 each on October 13, 2026.

The terms: The placement price was a 6.5% discount to the previous day's close of US$1.56, and a 20% discount to the US$1.82 five-day average. The new shares represent about 4.5% of existing capital and 4.3% of the enlarged base. Net proceeds come to about US$24.2M after expenses.

What's the endgame? Breton builds integrated systems for mining sites that combine solar-storage microgrids with electric mining trucks and autonomous driving. Of the proceeds, about US$14.5M goes to overseas solar and storage projects, US$4.84M to repay interest-bearing borrowings, and US$4.84M to working capital.

Why now? The raise uses a general mandate from shareholders and is expected to complete no later than October 31, 2026. The structure lets Breton tap capital quickly without a fresh shareholder vote.

The signal: The placement doubles as a balance-sheet cleanup and a bet on overseas expansion, pairing debt repayment with growth funding. For a post-IPO company, selling shares at a discount to the recent average signals urgency to lock in capital for its international pipeline.
