Zippy raises $20M Series C to scale manufactured housing finance

What's the deal? Zippy, a technology-enabled originator and servicer focused on manufactured housing finance, has raised a $20 million Series C. Saluda GradeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an alternative investment firm specialising in asset-backed credit, was the sole investor through its growth equity strategy.

Why now? The round lands as institutional investors pay closer attention to manufactured housing, driven by rising demand for affordable homeownership. Zippy secured more than $600 million in capital commitments in 2026 alone.

What's the endgame? The capital will fund Zippy's expansion beyond the 27 states it currently serves, new loan products across community, retail, and wholesale channels, and continued investment in its technology and balance sheet. Founded in 2021, the company runs a proprietary origination platform covering digital applications, underwriting, decisioning, and standardised loan documentation.

Saluda Grade will also work with Zippy on credit, capital markets, balance sheet management, and product development.

Why it matters: Manufactured housing is one of the US's largest sources of unsubsidised affordable housing — 5% of national households in 2024 and 9% of single-family home starts in 2025, per the Manufactured Housing Institute. Yet its financing infrastructure lags the traditional mortgage market.

"Manufactured housing is already one of the most compelling affordable homeownership solutions in America, but it needs a financing system that is just as modern and efficient as the homes themselves," said Ben Halliday, co-founder and chief executive officer of Zippy.

For Saluda Grade, the deal fits a strategy centred on housing supply and affordability, and on backing originators and fintechs working at the intersection of residential finance and asset-based credit.

"Zippy has built an impressive platform in one of the most overlooked sectors of housing finance," said John Stepp, head of ventures at Saluda Grade, citing a longstanding relationship with the company's leadership.

The signal: At $20 million, the round sits in the upper tier for its stage, reflecting investor conviction that an underbuilt but large affordable-housing segment is ready for modern financing infrastructure.
