Azzuro raises $2.17M to fund Mongolia copper-gold work
What's the deal? Azzuro ResourcesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (ASX:AZ9) has entered a subscription agreement to raise US$2.01M (roughly $2.17 million) from Kerry Resources Logistics. The exploration company issued 203,875,000 CHESS Depositary Interests to the Hong Kong-based investor, which will hold about 19.9% of Azzuro's shares on completion.
What's the money for? The capital funds resource definition, metallurgical testwork, and an initial commercial study at Azzuro's Red Hill copper-gold project in southwest Mongolia. Remaining funds go towards working capital and exploration across its Mongolian tenements.
What's the endgame? Azzuro has previously identified new mineralised zones at its Red Hill copper-gold and Oval copper-nickel-PGE projects. "The $3 million investment fully funds our resource definition, metallurgical testwork and initial commercial study at Red Hill project, putting us on a clear path to turn discovery into value," said managing director Gan-Ochir Zunduisuren.
The fine print: Kerry Resources Logistics may nominate one board director while holding at least a 15% stake. The placement was completed within Azzuro's existing placement capacity under ASX Listing Rules, requiring no prior shareholder approval.
The signal: The deal pairs an early-stage explorer with a strategic logistics backer taking a near-20% position — a route that lets small miners fund development without shareholder votes. Azzuro's shares rose to $0.015 following the announcement.
