Just Women's Sports buys Victra, launches app to reach 10M more fans

What's the deal? Just Women's Sports (JWS) has acquired women's sports technology company Victra SportsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → for an undisclosed sum, the Los Angeles-based media brand announced on October 13, 2026. The deal powers JWS's new mobile app, now live on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Why now? JWS says women's sports is entering "a fundamentally different era," with more access to games than ever. The company wants to close the gap between that growth and the digital tools fans use to follow it.

What's the endgame? JWS aims to move from media brand to the "central digital infrastructure" for women's sports. It reaches more than 115 million people monthly and owns an audience of over 6 million followers; the goal is to onboard the next 10 million fans.

What's in the app? Victra, founded by Haro Trenkler and Anna Malepeai, supplies the technology behind live scores, schedules, statistics, personalised accounts and push notifications. JWS combines that with its own editorial and video coverage plus real-time analytics.

What else? Alongside the app, JWS is launching two sport-specific brands, Just Women's Hoops and Just Women's Football, each with its own editorial voice and community. "Other platforms treat the whole of women's sports as a single bucket," said founder and chief executive officer Haley Rosen. "We know women's sports is bigger than that."

What led here? The moves cap a year in which JWS raised a new funding round, became an official Emerging Media Partner of the WNBADealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, deepened its NWSLDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → partnership, and teamed with Monarch Commerce to revamp its merch store.

The signal: JWS is betting on specialisation rather than the legacy model of housing women's sports verticals inside brands built around men's sports. As investment and viewership climb, it is positioning itself as the destination for a fanbase the industry has long underserved.
