MedinCell adds €13.8M loan, lifting non-dilutive debt to €41.8M since July

What's the deal? MedinCellDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the Montpellier-based biopharmaceutical company listed on Euronext Paris, has secured an additional €13.8 million in non-dilutive financing from European commercial banks and Bpifrance. The loan brings the total debt raised since July 2026 to €41.8 million.

Why non-dilutive? The financing was secured on market terms and includes no equity-linked instruments. That means no dilution for existing shareholders.

What's the endgame? MedinCell develops long-acting injectable treatments using its proprietary BEPO technology, which delivers drugs at therapeutic levels for days, weeks, or months from a single injection. It licenses these products to larger drugmakers.

What's the momentum? Its first BEPO-based treatment, Risperidone LAI, won FDA approval in 2023 and is marketed in the US by TevaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → as UZEDY. In October 2026, Olanzapine LAI secured FDA approval for schizophrenia, with a US launch by Teva — under the brand WELTRUZA — planned for the fourth quarter.

By the numbers. The company reported €84.8 million in cash and cash equivalents as of March 31, 2026. In July 2026 it repaid €23.2 million to the European Investment Bank, including €20 million of principal — half of its existing facility — and has extended its debt maturity profile through September 2031.

The signal: Raising debt rather than equity signals confidence in near-term revenue, and MedinCell's commercial traction with Teva gives it leverage to borrow on market terms. For a clinical- and commercial-stage biopharma, locking in cheaper, non-dilutive capital through 2031 buys runway without punishing shareholders.
