Webexpenses merges with Zudello to build a finance AI suite
What's the deal? WebexpensesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has merged with finance automation platform ZudelloDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → to combine expense management with a broader set of back-office tools. The deal terms were not disclosed.
What does each side bring? Webexpenses, founded in 2000, has offered expense management as a standalone product for 25 years, with adjacent features via partners. Zudello adds accounts payable, accounts receivable, order management, contract management, and budgeting, pushing the combined offering across the UK, APAC, and North America.
What's the endgame? The companies want to deliver a single platform for the office of the chief financial officer by connecting products customers already use. Zudello also gains what its founder calls "a global route to market."
What changes for customers? Little, at least for now. Both sets of customers keep their existing brand, products, pricing, contracts, support, and data privacy measures. Over time, each gains access to wider finance capabilities without adding a vendor.
Why now? Finance teams have been slower than other functions to adopt AI tools, largely over trust. Zudello lets users check how automation reached a result, giving teams a way to verify numbers for auditors and regulators.
"Finance teams are consistently the last people in the office every month end," said Joe Sanchez, chief executive officer of Webexpenses. "Zudello built software finance teams actually trust, because it's verifiable. We know how to take that to the world."
The signal: The merger reflects a push to consolidate scattered finance tools into one suite — and a bet that verifiable automation, not flashy AI, is what wins over cautious CFOs.
