What's the money for? WEFLY says the funds will go mainly toward product development, test flights, and airworthiness certification.
Why now? The round lands days after WEFLY's manned W280 eVTOL had its type-certificate application accepted by the East China Regional Administration of the Civil Aviation Administration of China on September 1, 2026 — a step the aircraft reached about a year after assembly.
What's the endgame? Founded in Suzhou in May 2022, WEFLY builds large-payload, fully electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, advancing from scaled-down prototypes to full-size test flights at a “three aircraft in three years” pace. The new round gives it a shareholder base spanning provincial, municipal, and district state capital, which the company says will support industry resources and policy coordination as it pushes toward certification.
