Why now? The company cited strong investor interest for the upsize. It will issue common shares and flow-through shares at US$0.04 each, for between 40,000,000 and 140,000,000 shares and minimum gross proceeds of US$1.47M.

What's the endgame? Proceeds from the flow-through shares will fund eligible Canadian exploration expenses on Labrador Gold's mineral properties in Canada. Net proceeds from the common shares go toward exploration and development, working capital, and general corporate purposes.

The details: The offering runs in two tranches. The first, expected to close around October 15, consists solely of the lead investors subscribing for US$1.56M in flow-through shares. The second, expected around October 23, will let the lead investors hold up to 19.99% of the company once complete.

The signal: Even at the upsized maximum, the raise sits in the lower tier of funding rounds by size — a reminder that for junior miners on the TSX Venture Exchange, exploration cash tends to arrive in modest, tax-advantaged tranches rather than headline sums.
