LearnUpon raises $50M debt facility to build out agentic learning

What's the deal? Dublin edtech LearnUpon has raised $50 million in a growth debt facility led by European fund manager Claret Capital PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The non-dilutive capital will fund agentic AI acquisitions and expand the company's international presence.

What's the endgame? Founded in 2012, LearnUpon runs a learning management platform that creates AI-generated modules for employee onboarding, upskilling, and compliance. Educators build "enterprise-grade" tools, while learners ask questions in natural language. Clients include Waymo and Wayve.

Why now? The company argues agentic tools cut the overhead of corporate learning systems, saying professionals spend up to 80% of their day managing software rather than teaching. Late last year it bought Berlin-founded AI course creator CourseauDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → for an undisclosed sum.

What the money unlocks: "This $50m facility fuels our vision to pioneer agentic learning," said co-founder and chief executive Brendan Noud. "It gives us the financial strength to innovate aggressively, scale rapidly, and define the future of enterprise learning."

Where it's growing: LearnUpon opened an Australian headquarters in Sydney earlier this year, following the Courseau deal. Its local headcount is up 80% over two years, serving more than 100 Asia-Pacific customers, including Healthcare AustraliaDealroom has a profile for this one. The signal: At $50 million, the facility ranks in the top 10% of all debt rounds raised by education companies in Ireland. Claret Capital vice president Philip Treacy said the business is "moving quickly to capture the AI momentum in corporate learning" — a sign of how fast edtech is reorienting around agentic tools.
