What does the company do? Founded in Lleida in 2003 by David Segura, Laboral Group is one of Spain's main providers of workplace risk prevention, specialised training, regulatory compliance, and property management services. It serves more than 59,000 small and medium-sized businesses and property communities across all 17 of Spain's autonomous regions.
What's the money for? The package gives Laboral Group and C10 the flexibility and committed capital to pursue an inorganic growth strategy — that is, growth through acquisitions rather than organic expansion.
Who's backing it? Tresmares is a pan-European alternative investment platform founded in 2019 that manages more than €4 billion across direct lending, fund-of-funds, and minority private equity. With offices in Madrid, London, and Frankfurt, it provides senior and junior debt to support growth, acquisitions, and expansion.
What they're saying: "This financing is a decisive step for the development of our growth project," said Segura, founder and chief executive officer of Laboral Group (translated from Spanish).
The signal: The deal reflects a shift in Spain's mid-market, where founders and management teams — not just financial investors — are driving ambitious consolidation plays. "The initiative is no longer the exclusive terrain of financial investors," said Francisco Hidalgo-Barquero, partner at Albia IMAP, pointing to owners aiming "to convert good companies into leaders of their respective sectors."
