SWI Group raises €800M to scale transatlantic AI compute

What's the deal? SWI GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the Euronext Amsterdam-listed digital investment platform, has raised €800 million (≈$896 million) in an institutional capital increase at a €6.1 billion valuation. The company issued new ordinary shares across several series, lifting total share capital to 558,399,385 shares.

Where the money goes: SWI will fund the consolidation and expansion of its transatlantic data center and AI compute platform across Europe and the US. That includes power infrastructure, compute deployments, and executing its development pipeline — plus increasing its stake in existing investments.

Why now? "This transaction is about keeping up to speed with the compute and data center markets," said founder and chief executive officer Max-Hervé George. The raise brings total equity raised since March 2026 to more than €1 billion.

What's the endgame? SWI operates as a global digital investment platform with digital infrastructure at its core. The capital increase strengthens its balance sheet, broadens its institutional shareholder base, and lifts free float to roughly 20% of share capital.

As part of the deal, certain investors received options on their shares, conditional on equity capital market milestones.

The signal: By size, this ranks among the largest post-IPO equity rounds for a Canadian-linked issuer on record — above the 99th percentile across 3,951 comparable deals. It underscores how far investors will stretch to back the physical buildout underpinning the AI boom: power, data centers, and compute.
