China's Wujiefangzhou raises Series A at $300M, backed by paying customers

What's the deal? Zhuhai Wujiefangzhou Intelligent Technology, a Chinese developer of on-device AI models, has closed a Series A round that values it at $300 million. The company, which builds an enterprise AI development platform, is pushing to raise its valuation further through continued fundraising.

By the numbers: Wujiefangzhou counts more than 80,000 paying enterprise customers and reports US$20.6M in annual recurring revenue from its business-to-business model line in its first year of commercialisation. The company estimates total revenue of US$34.4M to US$41.3M, and says its on-device models have been downloaded over 15 million times.

How it makes money: Revenue comes from three streams — custom development fees, on-device model licences, and cloud token usage. Customers include audio brand ShokzDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, whose on-device voice model now covers one million sports earbuds, and chip firm D-Robotics, which pays US$1.38 to US$2.75 per licence.

The tech: The company holds more than 200 patents and says its models run on over 95% of chip types on the market. Its Edge0-35B language model topped Hugging Face's trending chart in September 2026, and its Audio8 voice model has ranked first on a Hugging Face leaderboard.

Why it stands out: At $300 million, the round sits in roughly the 15th percentile for deal size — modest by global standards. But unlike many AI startups still selling a technology story, Wujiefangzhou is pricing its round against revenue, paying customers, and hardware deployments rather than benchmarks alone.

The signal: Wujiefangzhou shows how industrial capital is reshaping on-device AI funding. ShokzDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → is both an investor and a volume customer — a pattern that ties model supply to real production orders and shifts valuation logic from betting on models to pricing in chip integration, supply chains, and shipped hardware.
