Zhejiang HaiNa raises $16.9M to expand silicon capacity
What's the deal? Zhejiang HaiNa SemiconductorDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised US$15.5M (roughly $16.9 million) through a targeted share issue, parent company Zhejiang Unifront Technology disclosed. HaiNa, a controlled subsidiary, will use the proceeds for capacity expansion, core technology research, and product iteration.
What's the endgame? HaiNa makes semiconductor materials, with recent work focused on monocrystalline silicon — the base material for chips and solar cells. The company is building out both production capacity and the process technology around single-crystal growth.
The patents: HaiNa has two filings tied to its silicon-growth process. One, granted in August, covers a measurement dial and method for lateral magnetic field strength in single-crystal furnace quartz crucibles, replacing a multi-axis motor drive with a passive dial for concentric positioning and magnetic-pole calibration.
The second, published in September, describes a system for building a monocrystalline silicon pulling benchmark and compensating for source errors using a multi-dimensional quantitative model. It generates compensation parameters before crystal pulling begins, moving quality control earlier in the process.
The signal: The raise reflects continued investment in China's upstream semiconductor materials chain, where capacity and process control remain focal points. By pairing fresh funding with process-level patents, HaiNa is positioning to compete on both scale and precision in single-crystal silicon.
