Terms were not disclosed. The deal, announced October 9, 2026, adds specialty filtration and acoustic media to PPG's Engineered Textiles division.

Who are they? PPG manufactures engineered materials for the electrical, medical, aerospace and defence, filtration, and industrial markets, spanning paper, tubing, and woven products. MNW, founded by the Verney family and family-owned for more than 25 years, makes meltblown nonwoven media for filtration, automotive, healthcare, appliance, and consumer markets.

What changes? MNW keeps its brand and operates alongside PPG's other labels, including Paramount TubeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Euclid Medical ProductsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. James Cree stays on as president.

What's the endgame? PPG says it will invest in equipment, expand capabilities, and improve processes. "It's also exactly the type of acquisition where PPG has been most successful," said chief executive officer Tom Moore, pointing to deals where PPG applies its capital and operations, engineering, and commercial expertise.

MNW designs and builds its own fibre production equipment and runs meltblown and hydro-charging lines from 70 to 94 inches wide. An in-house laboratory lets customers move products from pilot runs to full-scale production.

What they're saying: "In PPG, the Verney family and I found a partner that shares that culture of material innovation," Cree said, adding the resources would help "bring even better solutions to our customers."

The signal: The acquisition reflects how engineered-materials platforms are consolidating niche, highly specified manufacturers to broaden their product range. For PPG, meltblown nonwovens add a new category built on the same technical focus; for MNW, backing from a long-hold investor offers room to scale without short-term deadlines.
