Salazar Resources closes $2.45M placement to fund Ecuador exploration

What's the deal? Salazar ResourcesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (TSXV: SRL) has closed a non-brokered private placement that raised US$2.57M in gross proceeds. The Vancouver-based junior miner issued 10,000,000 units at US$0.26 each, with each unit comprising one common share and half a common share purchase warrant.

The fine print: Each whole warrant lets holders buy an additional share at US$0.44 over two years from closing. Finder's fees of US$76.9K in cash and 299,521 finder's warrants were paid on part of the financing. All securities carry a four-month hold period.

What's the endgame? Salazar is a Canadian junior exploration company focused on copper-gold deposits in Ecuador. It holds a 25% carried interest in the Curipamba-El Domo copper-gold project, now under construction, plus a 100%-owned portfolio spanning the Monja, Santiago, Pijilí, El Tigre, and Tarqui-Quimi projects. Net proceeds will go toward working capital and exploration.

Why now? The placement, first announced September 17, 2026, drew insider participation: company insiders bought an aggregate 405,000 units. That made it a related-party transaction under Multilateral Instrument 61-101, though it was exempt from formal valuation and minority approval requirements because neither the value of the insiders' securities nor their consideration exceeded 25% of market capitalisation.

The signal: At roughly $2.45 million, the round sits in the lower tier of financings by size — modest capital typical of early-stage mining juniors that raise in increments to keep exploration moving. For Salazar, the raise buys runway to advance its Ecuador portfolio while its flagship Curipamba stake heads toward production.
