What does it do? Founded in 2018, Mailian focuses on non-invasive BCI applications in treating emotional disorders, brain disease rehabilitation, and long-term care. Its work spans brain health monitoring and closed-loop systems that detect and intervene in mood disorders.

What's the endgame? The startup is building products that fuse non-invasive BCI with generative AI, including a sleep-cognition platform and a rehabilitation system for stroke-related swallowing disorders. It wants its technology to move beyond hospitals.

What's the money for? "This round is an important milestone for the company," said founder Cui Zhengzhe (translated from Chinese). He said Mailian will accelerate work on a multimodal BCI neural-regulation model and extend products "from hospitals to community and home rehabilitation settings."

The signal: The round reflects investor appetite for brain-computer interfaces, a field drawing growing attention as companies push the technology from research toward everyday clinical and home use.
