Movr. raises $300,000 to build the system behind the move in Texas
What's the deal? The Movr. AppDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an Austin-based residential logistics platform, has raised $300,000 to date — including founder and private investor funding — and is now fully operational across Austin. Residents can get an instant price, book, pay, and track their move inside the app, while vetted moving companies and independent operators receive jobs directly through the platform.
What's the endgame? Movr. wants to replace a fragmented process — unclear prices, unverified crews, and buildings that still handle move-ins by phone and paper — with one system covering pricing, matching, scheduling, payment, and building coordination.
Why now? The company has signed more than 42 moving companies to the platform, and three residential properties have committed to launch with Movr. as their move-in and move-out system. Service already extends to San Antonio.
Where the money goes: Movr. plans to expand its operator supply, deepen partnerships with apartment communities and real estate professionals, and scale the in-app booking and payment experience across Central Texas.
What's in it for operators? Independent movers and local companies join the platform, get approved, and receive jobs without paying for leads. "Operators get steady work and the tools to grow," said founder and chief executive officer Khalyph Smith, a US Navy veteran and former semiconductor engineering professional.
The signal: "Texans move more than almost anyone in the country, and the experience has not kept up," Smith said. "Austin is fully live, and we are building the model for every city in Texas." The round is small, but it reflects a bet that household moving — one of the most stressful consumer purchases — is ready for a single-app operating system.
