Try Dealroom →, a San Francisco-based developer of AI hardware tools and physics-based models, has raised $1.5 million in pre-seed funding. Omni VCDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → led the round, with Reinforced VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Avesta FundDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and Draper U Ventures participating.
What's the endgame? The company builds open-source AI hardware benchmark designed to measure the energy, cost, and useful output of data-center compute infrastructure. Its platform pairs physical behavior — power usage, heat generation, and hardware degradation — with workload performance to gauge compute yield and remaining productive life.
Why now? Tensor Machines plans to use the funds to further develop its open-source hardware and proprietary physics-based models. Those models currently run in private beta with select bare-metal providers and neo-cloud design partners.
Who's behind it? Founder and chief executive officer Muneeb Rasool leads the company.
The signal: At $1.5 million, the round sits in the lower tier of pre-seed deals — in roughly the 28th percentile by size. The bet is on infrastructure tooling as data-center operators face growing pressure to track the real cost and efficiency of AI compute.
