Chaleit lists on AIM, raising £2.1M at a £11.2M valuation
What's the deal? Cyber security consultancy Chaleit Holdings PLCDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → started trading on London's AIM market on Wednesday, raising about £2.1 million gross at an issue price of 50 pence per share. The Cambridge, England-based company listed with a market capitalisation of around £11.2 million.
Of the total, about £1.1 million came from placing 2 million new shares and a direct subscription for 190,000 new shares. Separately, 2 million existing shares held by founder and chief executive officer Dan Haagman were sold to new investors at the issue price.
Why now? Chaleit pointed to the evolution of artificial intelligence, more complex technology environments, and tighter regulation as drivers of demand. "Cyber security is an enduring requirement for every organisation," Haagman said, adding that the company sees a "substantial" opportunity to broaden its work and win new clients in the UK and internationally.
What's the endgame? The listing follows five years of preparation, according to chair Ken Ford. "Coming to AIM gives us a strong platform for the next phase of our growth story, while allowing us to retain the specialist, client focused approach that sets us apart," Haagman said.
Chaleit had 22.5 million shares on admission. Its shares rose 10% to 55p in early London trading on Wednesday.
The signal: A modest AIM debut, Chaleit's float adds another cyber security name to public markets at a time when AI and regulatory pressure are reshaping demand for the sector's services.
