Konsileo raises £5M to scale its broker-first insurance platform

What's the deal? UK insurtech Konsileo has raised £5 million in a late-stage equity round led by existing shareholder Committed CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with ACF InvestorsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → also taking part. The chartered insurance broker will use the funds to grow its team, invest in its platform, and build on recent momentum.

What does it do? Founded in 2017, Konsileo arranges more than £85 million in annual insurance premiums for UK businesses and employs over 220 people. Its proprietary broking platform automates administrative tasks, embeds compliance checks, and helps brokers capture better-quality risk information.

What's the endgame? The company runs a flat structure that replaces managers with coaching and ties rewards to client relationships, backed by training through its Konsileo Academy. The pitch is simple: give brokers autonomy and better tools, and they deliver better service.

Why now? The raise comes as Konsileo approaches its 10th anniversary, having grown organically rather than through acquisition. "This investment means we can keep attracting great people, investing in our platform and building on the momentum we've created," said chief executive officer John Warburton, who co-founded the firm with chief operating officer Peter Henderson.

What the backers say: Committed Capital chief executive officer Steven Harris pointed to two assets that are "very hard to replicate": a platform that strips out administration and is "now putting AI to work for brokers," and a culture that attracts talent. ACF Investors, which first backed Konsileo in 2022, cited the "strength and scalability" of its model.

The signal: Modest in size, the round sits in the lower third of comparable deals. But it reflects continued investor appetite for insurtech that pairs automation with a people-led model — a bet that technology can sharpen, rather than replace, the human side of commercial broking.
