Try Dealroom → The deal value was undisclosed, but the company confirmed an initial investment of about $500,000 in the platform.

What changes? Not much immediately. CR Autos keeps its name, local team, and 28-year brand after the acquisition, with no immediate adjustments to the interface, portfolio, or service, according to new general manager Adriana Morillo Pinto.

The hire: Morillo takes over as general manager of Move Tech Inc. to lead the business from Costa Rica alongside the existing operating team. "CR Autos continues as Costa Ricans know it, with its operation, its team, its portfolio and service commitment," she said (translated from Spanish).

Where the money goes: The $500,000 will fund digital infrastructure, platform security, and a better experience for dealerships, private sellers, and buyers. In 2025, CR Autos recorded more than 92,000 listings, making it one of the country's leading automotive platforms.

What's the endgame? The medium-term plan is to evolve from a traditional intermediary into a broader digital ecosystem. By 2027, the company expects to build partnerships adding financing, insurance, maintenance, and advisory services.

The signal: The acquisition aims to cement CR Autos in Costa Rica and lay the groundwork for an eventual expansion across Central America — signalling BAC's bid to fold automotive e-commerce into a wider regional push toward digital transformation.
