Jensen Huang's son-in-law Nico Caprez runs Nvidia's push to finance the neoclouds

What's happening? The Information has profiled Nico Caprez, 35, a former Swiss pro ski racer who has become one of Nvidia's most trusted executives. He joined in early 2024 as a corporate development manager, recruited with help from Madison Huang, Jensen HuangDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s daughter, whom he married in late September. In January 2026 he was promoted from director straight to VP of global AI infrastructure growth, skipping senior director. Before Nvidia he worked at BCG in Zurich, studied at London Business School and was an investment analyst at Zurich-based PSquared Asset Management.

What does he do? Caprez manages Nvidia's multibillion-dollar relationships with neoclouds and other data-center operators and co-leads its Cloud Partner program with VP Raj Mirpuri. According to the report, he is credited with June's credit-support deal for Australia's Firmus (about 170,000 Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin chips, possibly worth over $15B, in return for a share of future cloud revenue). He also helped expand Blackstone's GPU-backed loan facility for CoreWeave from $2.3B to $7.5B, led minority stakes in two US land-and-power developers, and worked on August's $500B financing plan with Wall Street and private-equity firms.

Why it matters: Nvidia is increasingly acting as lender and backstop for the neoclouds that buy its chips, and the person running that strategy sits very close to the founder. The same report says Nvidia's AI Compute Partnership is being restructured after established neoclouds such as Nebius pushed back, and that Nvidia's credit default swap spreads have roughly doubled in recent months, although its credit rating remains near the top.

Fact vs. inference: Titles, dates and deal figures come from The Information 's reporting; Caprez declined to be interviewed. The idea that he and Madison Huang (promoted in March to senior director of product marketing for physical AI) could be Nvidia's future leadership comes from unnamed employees, not from the company, and Nvidia has not commented on succession.
