Italy's SimpL raises €1.2M to tie B2B sales fees to results

What's the deal? Italian startup SimpL has raised €1.2 million in a pre-seed round to build an AI-powered operating system for generating B2B sales opportunities. Techshop Capital led the round, with participation from Vento VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and several angels.

What does it do? SimpL collects public data — job postings, company pages, and news — and feeds it into a proprietary knowledge graph linking companies, people, and interactions. Deep learning models then estimate which decision-makers are most likely to respond, when to contact them, and how.

What's the problem? The startup targets a common failure in B2B sales: companies with the right product miss deals by reaching out too early or after a customer has already picked a supplier.

How it works: The system connects to tools teams already use — email, CRM, and calendars — and learns their products and sales strategies. It can initiate contact and manage conversations through to a meeting, adjusting each step based on the recipient's response rather than fixed message sequences.

The business model: Rather than charging per-user subscriptions or upfront fees, SimpL bills only for qualified meetings that take place. "We are not selling another piece of software to add to the sales tools companies already use, but an integrated process that learns from every interaction and is paid only on success," said chief executive officer and co-founder Nicolò Fugallo.

Why it's different: Chief technology officer and co-founder Raffaele Scarano said prediction accuracy hinges on spotting the right signals. "The challenge is not collecting signals, but understanding which ones actually improve the prediction and which ones are just noise," he said, adding that a change in the wording of a job posting can matter more than visible news.

What's next? SimpL, founded by Fugallo, Scarano, and Luca Marco Agnoli, will spend the funding on product development, technology, and hiring. It operates from Milan, where it has opened SimpL House, a space inspired by the hacker-house model that brings research, product, and business development together.

The signal: At €1.2 million, SimpL's raise sits well below the European norm — a modest early bet on whether a results-only pricing model can displace the stack of subscriptions sales teams juggle today.
