Founders Zach En'Wezoh and Omar Draz built the company to close gaps in how the cargo industry verifies who collects high-value loads.
Why now? The rapid buildout of AI infrastructure — microchips, server racks, and data center hardware — means single trailer loads can reach $15 million. That turns a fraudulent pickup into a catastrophic loss.
What's the endgame? Indemni runs a proprietary rules engine that executes more than 18 automated checks across a shipment's journey. Before load details or rate confirmations are released, it verifies the driver, confirms equipment, checks documents, collects photos, and tracks shipments in real time. Every check lands in a central audit trail for shipper reviews and insurance claims.
What's the pitch? The model rewards verified operational controls with better coverage and pricing. "We are setting the new standard for freight insurance by bringing over-the-road intelligence data directly to the teams insuring HVHR loads," said En'Wezoh.

What could go wrong? Cargo theft is shifting from physical theft to fraud and impersonation. "As those exposures evolve, the insurance market needs to adapt with relevant solutions," said Simon Schnorr, head of marine and energy at Chaucer — a reminder that attackers can adapt as fast as defences.
The signal: Insurers increasingly lean on fast, wide-ranging data to price risk, and Indemni is pulling a traditionally analogue trade toward real-time verification. At $4 million, the round sits in the lower tier of seed deals by size — modest capital aimed at a specialised, high-value problem.
