Kagoshima's CyCal lands ~$63K to scale its salon management platform

What's the deal? CycalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Kagoshima-based startup building a management platform for hair salons, has raised US$76.9K (roughly $63,300) in an early-stage round. The capital came through a third-party share allotment taken up by local cloud firm QuailDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with the payment completed on October 6, 2026.

What does it do? Founded in July 2021, CyCal combines accounting, booking, and customer management with a CRM built on salons' official LINE accounts. The system pulls together data once scattered across POS systems, booking sites, and paper records, letting salons run their own marketing and follow-ups.

What's the endgame? CyCal aims to turn salon staff effort into "repeatable results" by linking service quality with product costs and inventory data. It is also planning automated ordering of salon supplies, driven by demand forecasts built on accounting, records, and booking data.

Why Quail? Both companies are based in Kagoshima. Quail, founded in 2013, is an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner that joined Tokyo-listed Appirits'Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → group in October 2024. It plans to back CyCal's product development with its cloud and system-building expertise.

"By partnering with Quail, which has strengths in cloud and system development, we will further strengthen our product development structure," said CyCal chief executive officer Yohei Nishi (translated from Japanese).

Quail chief executive officer Takehisa Ikeda framed the bet in broader terms: "redefining the way sites that have relied on intuition and experience operate with data and technology" is a theme that "applies to many industries, not just the beauty industry" (translated from Japanese).

The signal: The round is small — among the lowest tier by size — but it illustrates a regional play: an established local cloud partner backing a nearby startup to extend its reach from Kagoshima to the rest of Japan. It is less about the figure than about building a technical alliance in the city both companies call home.
