Link Mobility buys Spain's LabsMobile for €2.4M to push into Latin America

What's the deal? Link Mobility has acquired Spanish messaging provider LabsMobileDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → for €2.4 million in cash. The price values LabsMobile at about 6.5 times its projected 2025 adjusted EBITDA.

Who is LabsMobile? Founded in 2009, it is a single-channel SMS provider serving more than 3,000 customers. Two-thirds of its revenue comes from Latin America — mainly Mexico and Colombia — and 27% from Spain.

What's the endgame? The deal strengthens Link Mobility's position in Spain and expands its presence in Latin America. It also lets the Oslo-listed group cross-sell products like WhatsApp Business and RCS to LabsMobile's customer base.

Why now? LabsMobile is growing fast: its gross profit is projected to compound at 37% a year from 2023 to 2026. That trajectory gives Link Mobility a foothold in markets where it can upsell richer messaging channels beyond SMS.

The signal: The acquisition reflects how messaging players are consolidating single-channel SMS providers to build broader platforms. As businesses shift toward WhatsApp and RCS, buying installed SMS customer bases offers a ready path to cross-sell newer formats.
