NVIDIA backs Reactor's Series A for real-time world model infrastructure

What's the deal? Reactor, a developer platform for real-time generative video and world models, said NVIDIA and Sapphire Ventures have joined its Series A round, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. What's the endgame? Reactor wants to be the infrastructure layer for world models — systems that simulate, understand, and interact with dynamic environments. Its inference engine, global GPU cloud, and streaming layer let developers run models at 60+ FPS and sub-40ms latency through a single SDK and API.

Why now? World models are moving beyond video generation, but running them interactively demands heavy GPU resources and low-latency infrastructure. Reactor positions itself to serve that demand as models grow larger and more compute-intensive.

The platform is already live across media and entertainment, with Hollywood studios, advertising platforms, and streaming services running active projects. World model labs and hundreds of developers also build on it, and the same infrastructure extends to robotics — running robot policies in the cloud and training them inside simulated environments.

What they're saying: "Every time computing has shifted from passive to interactive, entirely new applications have become possible," said co-founder and chief executive officer Alberto Taiuti. "These models require enormous amounts of compute, and they need to respond in real time."

Reactor was co-founded by Taiuti and chief technology officer Bryce Schmidtchen, both former technical leads on Apple Vision Pro. Taiuti previously co-founded Luma AI, serving as its chief technology officer. The broader team includes engineers from Apple, Meta, GoogleDealroom has a profile for this one. The signal: The investor roster — anchored by Lightspeed and now including chipmaker NVIDIA and enterprise-focused Sapphire Ventures — signals that backers see real-time world models as the next compute-hungry frontier, spanning media and physical AI alike.
