The South San Francisco company develops the Zenflow Spring, an in-office implant for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or enlarged prostate.
Why now? The raise follows PMA approval from the US Food and Drug Administration in December 2025. Proceeds will fund the commercial launch of the Spring system.
The deal within the deal: Alongside the financing, Zenflow signed an exclusive US distribution agreement with Cook Medical, which has an established commercial presence in urology. The Spring offers a device-based alternative to drug therapy, with multiple implant sizes, full reversibility, no post-procedure catheter, and preservation of sexual function.
What's the endgame? Zenflow is positioning Spring in a new category it calls first-line interventional therapy (FIT), giving physicians a device option to offer before drugs. More than 30 million US men live with BPH.
"Cook Medical's deep relationships within urology and proven commercialization capabilities make them the ideal partner to help bring the benefits of the Zenflow Spring to patients across the country," said chief executive officer Shreya Mehta.
The signal: At $52 million, the round sits in the upper range of medtech financings, and pairing capital with a distribution deal lets a small company reach urologists nationwide without building a sales force from scratch. For Zenflow, the Cook partnership converts regulatory approval into commercial reach — the hard part for any newly cleared device.
