What's the endgame? Founded in 2023, OneByZero places its own engineers inside client companies to build AI into their systems and keep improving it after launch — a "forward-deployed" model. Its NEO platform runs and governs AI "agents," automated tools with defined roles and controls, alongside human staff.

Where does it work? Built on Amazon Web ServicesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, OneByZero serves mainly banks, telecom operators, and retailers across nine markets: Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam.

What's the money for? The company will grow its engineering teams across those markets and open a team in Japan. It also plans to move into healthcare and the public sector, and develop NEO further.

The numbers: OneByZero said it more than doubled revenue each year over three years. Its deployments automated more than 90% of some customer-facing interactions and sped up data-modernisation projects by 50%, the firm said.

What they're saying: Chief executive officer and co-founder Niket Vaidya said AI can create value and keep improving when it runs inside the systems that operate a business. Jungle Ventures managing partner Yash Sankrityayan said OneByZero stood out for spending three years deploying AI in large, complex organisations "with measurable results."

The signal: As more Asian enterprises move AI from experimentation into core operations, the forward-deployed model — embedding engineers rather than selling software alone — is emerging as a bet on execution over product.
