What does Computis do? It aims to shift accounting for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from a compliance task to a decision-making tool. Its platform automates document collection, foreign supplier invoice recovery, bank reconciliation, and invoicing.
What's the endgame? For many SMEs, accounting reveals how a year went only after it has ended. Computis pairs software and automation with an internal operations team and a network of independent partner accountants to give owners a constant view of their financial position.
The founders: Chief executive officer Enrico Nicosia, chief revenue officer Riccardo Donatelli, and chief product and technology officer Leonardo Drici founded the company. Nicosia said the goal is not to "reinvent accounting" but to use technology to cut manual work and turn data into information available when decisions are made. "Many entrepreneurs are still used to discovering how their company is really doing when the numbers arrive at the end of the month, quarter, or even year," he said (translated from Italian).
