Try Dealroom →, a South Korean financial decision AI company, has raised US$251.5K from Seoul National University Technology HoldingsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the sole investor. The startup, founded in 2023, builds AI tools that help financial institutions make business judgments.
What's the endgame? It will use the funds to upgrade its financial decision AI engine and expand across the finance sector. Plans include hiring developers and strengthening services for banks' security, data processing, and network-separation environments.
How it works: The engine links structured data, such as transaction and credit records, with unstructured data like consultation notes to build a full picture of each customer. It applies time-series forecasting to predict how a customer's status may change, then suggests which clients to prioritise and what action to take, with traceable statistical reasoning.
The company serves banks, cards, insurance, and public finance, applying its AI to customer retention, debt recovery, and policy-fund screening. It is currently running proof-of-concept trials with financial institutions.
Why now? In July, Gwanak launched GLABDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a retail investment service built on the same AI engine, moving into the B2C market.
"The bottleneck in finance is not the model but the data," said chief executive officer Seung Hyun-chan. "Unstructured data like consultation records can only be used after passing through human hands, and changing that is the problem we are solving" (translated from Korean).
Cha In-hwan, chief executive officer of Seoul National University Technology Holdings, said the team combines "SNU source technology, statistics PhDs, and finance experts with over 20 years of experience" (translated from Korean).
The signal: The round reflects steady interest in applying AI to back-office financial decisions, where legacy systems and messy data remain the main barriers. Gwanak's pitch — adding AI without ripping out existing infrastructure — targets exactly that friction.
