What's the deal? Barnes AerospaceDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired ATL Turbine ServicesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Dundee, Scotland-based specialist in refurbishing and repairing hot-section gas turbine components. The deal, announced October 1, 2026, marks Barnes Aerospace's first dedicated component repair and overhaul presence in Europe. Terms were not disclosed.
What each side brings: Barnes Aerospace provides component engineering, manufacturing, and repair solutions across the aerospace industry. ATL, with more than 30 years of experience, offers in-house component assessment, engineering, repair, and coatings for civil aerospace, defense, industrial turbine, and marine turbine customers.
Why now? The acquisition gives Barnes an in-region platform to serve European aftermarket customers and access to specialized repair capabilities. "Customers increasingly value access to high-quality repair capabilities closer to their operations," said John McKirdy, senior vice president of strategy and growth for component repair and overhaul at Barnes Aerospace.
Market expansion: ATL's Scotland base extends Barnes Aerospace's reach beyond Europe into the Middle East and Africa, broadening its global repair portfolio and adding complementary technical capabilities.
What's the endgame? Barnes aims to build a broader global aftermarket network covering the full turbine engine component lifecycle. "Establishing our Component Repair and Overhaul presence in Europe is an important part of Barnes Aerospace's strategy to grow our business and better support customers where they operate," said chief executive officer Mike J. Mosley.
The move follows Barnes Aerospace's August 2026 acquisition of Jet AirWerksDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, which expanded its commercial aeroengine inspection, repair, overhaul, and disassembly capabilities in North America.
The signal: Two acquisitions in as many months point to a deliberate aftermarket consolidation push, as Barnes Aerospace stitches together a regional repair footprint across North America and now Europe to capture more of the turbine engine lifecycle.
