Law firm Squire Patton BoggsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → advised Hypha, with a team led by corporate partner Matt Canipa.

What does TREND do? Based in High Wycombe, UK, it designs, makes and supports test and measurement kit for deploying, certifying and maintaining data networks, including national infrastructure and datacentres. Its tools cover copper, power-over-ethernet, fibre and network qualification, with results stored on its AnyWARE Cloud platform.

The reach: TREND runs offices in Germany and the US, with more than 200,000 devices in the field across over 90 countries.

What's the endgame? Hypha, which invests in lower mid-market businesses, said it will back TREND through its next growth phase. New capital will fund product innovation, expand the cloud ecosystem, strengthen commercial teams and widen the company's international reach.

"This is a great result for Hypha and TREND: a strong growth partner for a global, cloud-connected test and certification business," Canipa said.

The signal: The deal reflects growing private equity appetite for niche industrial technology firms tied to network and datacentre buildouts. As demand for fibre and data infrastructure rises, companies that certify and maintain those networks become attractive bolt-on targets for growth capital.
