Investcorp closes $1.22B second North American PE fund, beating target
What's the deal? InvestcorpDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has held the final close of its North American Private Equity (NAPE) Fund II L.P. at $1.22 billion, exceeding its $1.1 billion target. The fund backs growing middle-market companies in the business and professional services and commercial services sectors.
Who's backing it? Fund II drew commitments from institutional investors across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Investcorp said the close reflects continued support from its longstanding investor base.
Why now? The firm closed above target "in a difficult fund-raising environment," building on its 2021 inaugural Fund I. "The successful close of Fund II is also a strong reflection of the trust that leading institutional investors around the world place in Investcorp," said executive chairman Mohammed Alardhi.
What's the endgame? NAPE invests exclusively in growth services businesses across two verticals: business and professional services, and commercial services. It targets fragmented, non-cyclical sub-sectors and companies with between $10 million and $50 million of EBITDA.
How it works: NAPE uses co-investment from institutional LPs to make deals without equity-check constraints. In Fund I, LPs invested over $1 billion of fee-free co-invest equity.
Fund II is already deployed in two companies: Guardian Fire ServicesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Nashville-based fire protection and life safety provider, and Berger Financial GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Minnesota-based registered investment advisor. The Guardian deal closed in December 2025 and Berger in July 2026, and Guardian has since made two acquisitions.
The signal: Beating US$711.8M target in a tough market signals steady LP appetite for middle-market specialists with consistent returns. Investcorp, which calls the US its largest market, is doubling down on services roll-ups backed by LP co-investment capital.
