Why now? "The next frontier is how they move once they arrive," said chief executive officer and co-founder Andrea Bertelli, framing mobility as the overlooked part of experiential tourism. Travellers on holiday are more open to new experiences, co-founder Oliver Ouboter argues, making it the right moment to test an unfamiliar vehicle category.

The app includes Lolita AI, a travel assistant that suggests scenic routes and local stops.

Already in motion: The model is live across several Italian destinations, from Como and Milan to Rimini and Puglia. Micro Rent says more than 70% of bookings happen less than an hour before departure, pointing to spontaneous demand.

At one partner property in Como, guests completed over 40 rentals in July. "I have seen guests get into a Microlino for the first time and start smiling right away," said Olga Gorbacheva, chief marketing officer and co-founder.

The signal: Equity crowdfunding lets early-stage Italian startups test both capital and customer appetite in one move. Micro Rent is betting that hotels will treat mobility as part of the guest experience — and that validated traction in a handful of Italian towns can translate across Europe.
